Greetings in the name of Jesus.
I have good news to share with you- the churches, individuals, and organizations who have faithfully supported Vision of Hope Ministries (VOHM). VOHM is in the black! We have a positive general fund balance! Your generous gifts have enabled this ministry to recover from serious financial challenges.
VOHM experienced organizational challenges in 2017. I want you to know I recognize that we did not live up to the high standard of communication, relationship, and administrative accountability we endeavor to maintain. I take full responsibility for this failure and apologize to each of you. VOHM will not allow this failure to continue.
In fact, we have taken decisive steps to rectify those lapses. I want you to know that I have no concerns concerning whether contributions you have entrusted to VOHM have been used for the purposes for which you designated them. Those donations have all been used for the purpose for which they were intended by the donor. However, I know we have not always been responsive to your calls and emails, and you didn’t always receive timely responses from the children you sponsored.
To resolve these issues, the VOHM Board of Directors has:
1.)hired a new Administrative Coordinator-Karen Patterson. Karen is not new. She previously served with us for over 10 years. She is proficient in all aspects of the Administrative position. Karen shares our heart and passion for the vision of VOHM which is:
“To transform lives through the Gospel, empowering the next generation of Haitians with a high-quality education and a Christian world view in order to break a cycle of dependence which will change Haiti for Christ and His Kingdom.”
2.)completely redesigned our VOHM web site with an easy to use, secure, and robust on-line giving component. Please check it out at visionofhopeministries.org
3.)agreed to make relationships, communication, and accountability with you, our partners and supporters, our primary responsibility. When you call, email or write to us you will hear from Karen, our primary contact person. I want to also extend myself to your service. Prayer-We stand for the Lord in a broken country. The going gets tough. Yet, many are searching for truth and for redemption for the life they live. We have seen tremendous change in those who put their trust in the Lord. It is a blessing to see them grow and then influence others to seek the Lord. Pray for wisdom, strength, and grace for Pastor Henoc’s team as they work together to reach their fellow Haitians. Pray also for the VOHM board members as we seek God’s guidance for the ministry.
Finances-I want to thank you again for your faithful support of this ministry and ask you to help us keep VOHM in the black in the months and years to come. For 2017-18, the VOHM general budget, College Susan Schuenke and orphan budget adds up to $322,500 or $26,875/month.
1) We have 35 students not yet matched to donors for the 2017-18 school year. These students are enrolled in our school on faith in the hope they will be supported. We will hold these sponsorships open until May 31, 2018. Please consider sponsorship of a student at $375/yr.
2) To fund our annual budget of $322,500/yr. please consider becoming a VOHM partner at one of these suggested donor levels: our partners consist of churches, organizations and individuals, and every contribution at any level helps.
