God has remained faithful through another year of ministry.  Though hardship still remains for us in Haiti we persevere and choose to highlight the many blessings this year has brought.  It is through the Hope of Christ that our churches and school are able to successfully move forward.  Through every circumstance we choose to continue the good fight and are only able to do so because of our faithful donors and Gods Blessing.

Rom 5:3-5 we rejoice in our suffering, knowing suffering produces endurance, and

endurance produces character, and character produces hope which never disappoints

Our three churches, in Cap Haitien, Grand Rivier du Nord and Berard continue to grow and worship regularly.  Under the guidance of Godly pastors each congregation is able to thrive.  As many refugees flee north we are privileged to have open doors to welcome them for worship, community and the word of God.

College Susan Schuenke finished the 2025 school year strong with 69 high school graduates!  The 2025-2026 school year has started off well with 870 students attending.  We currently have 45 students who attend school thanks to faithful donors through our sponsorship program.  We have many children on the waiting list to be sponsored by generous donors.  If you feel led to sponsor a child for $35 a month click the link below!

Career day at school!

An exciting highlight this year was the donation of a new(to us) bus for CSS. We have been in desperate need of new buses for a while. The buses we currently use are running but are a huge drain on funds due to constant repairs needed. Honey Rock Camp in Wisconsin graciously donated the bus. We were so encouraged to see so many Christians from Three Lakes EFC ,WI to Midwest Mission Peoria, IL to  Miami, Fl working together to transport the bus down to Miami and also pack it full of food and supplies! What a blessing and encouragement to see so many be the hands and feet of Jesus.

VOHM continues under the strong spiritual insight of Senior Missionary Pastor Caleb Lucien

Enjoy this personal letter from Pastor Caleb:
The past 5 months have been some of the most difficult times in Haiti. The gangs have gained more territories and moving things from one end of the country to the next has been extremely challenging. The government has been ineffective and we are all waiting for a divine intervention. Traveling to and from Haiti has also been complicated. There is only one airlines that travels from haiti to Miami and a ticket is about $1200 most of the times. A 22 minutes flight within haiti cost $500 round trip by plane and about $2200 by helicopter, so getting supplies is very limited. The gangs collect tolls from every vehicle that passes on the highway; for example to get a fuel trailer from Port au Prince the transporter has to pay between $2.5k-$4k depending on when. Life is defined as survival and resilience for those living in the capital. The only way to get to the states is through a Haitian airline that cost you arms and legs . Sometimes one way trip may cost you $900.    Despite all the troubles, the churches continue to strive. In June the church in Berard through the leadership of Pastor Sainsoir and Guerline Lucien gathered more than 750 youth from several churches and provided leadership training to equip them to face the reality of life as believers in the context of Haiti. They focussed on how to be salt and light and on how to impact their world. The church in Grande Riviere celebrated their 21 years of service to the Lord and to the community and saw several believers express their faith through baptism. The church in Cap Haitien is growing and seeing attendance of 700+ on Sunday. Cell groups continue to be a major outreach as members are equipped to impact their community. In partnership with Elevate Her International, the women of the Evangelical free church of Cap Haitien continue to minister to women not only in Cap Haitien but in other communities. The church in Berard celebrated their 26th anniversary and it was wonderful to see many young people in whom VOHM had invested in some important leadership roles.
We had some great results at College Susan Schuenke for the academic year 2024-2025. 100% of our 9th graders passed the National exam and 90% of our seniors passed . We praise the Lord for the dedication of our teachers and staff who under difficult circumstances continue to be a light in darkness
While we are seeing progress the needs continue to be great. Pray that the Lord will use His people to empower us to do the work please remember us daily in your prayersIn His service, Pastor Caleb Lucien
